Hello My Name Is...

<Mrs. Dorman>
I am the Case Manager for 1st, 4th and half of 3rd grade. I am so excited to be working with my students and their families again this year..
I bring a very diverse
background and years of experience to Fishburn Elementary. After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in
Psychology from Towson State University, and a Master’s Degree in Psychology
from George Mason University my husband and I moved to Brussels Belgium with
the Department of Defense. Three kids (Tyler, Nicole & Jacquelyn) and 6
years later my husband, Ron, and I moved to Ashburn, Virginia. I began my teaching career at Belmont Station
Elementary school with Loudoun County Public Schools after earning my Master’s
Degree in Special Education from Shenandoah University. I furthered by education by earning a
Certification for Specialized Reading for Students with Learning Disabilities
from George Mason University and was hired as a Specialized Reading
Instructional Facilitator for Loudoun County Public Schools. I soon realized that I missed my kiddos, and
so I returned to the classroom at Rosa Lee Carter Elementary. In May of 2020, in the middle of the
pandemic, my husband and I moved to the Roanoke area and I am so happy to be returning to the Fishburn Park Elementary family.
I know it is going to be another great year, WE GOT THIS!
Mrs. Cathy Dorman
