Ms. Tammy Brown

Welcome to Fishburn Park Elementary School where I am honored to serve as the principal!

As I am new to Fishburn Park, I would like to tell you a little about myself and why I love what I do! I am a product of Roanoke City Schools. I graduated from Patrick Henry High School with the drive to go into education. From high school I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology from Roanoke College and my master’s degree in school administration from the University of Virginia. I have been an educator in Roanoke since 2003.  My teaching experience spans from elementary education through the high school level.  While teaching at the high school level, I taught biology and earth science. The past seven years I have served as an administrator at William Fleming High School, five of which I was the Smith Hall Principal.

I have two children who also attend Roanoke City Public Schools because I believe in our education system. I have vested interest in our district and I am excited to implement the new STEAM focus as we work together toward student success. I know that as a team we will make this year a success!

As our theme for the year implies, we are Full STEAM Ahead!
